Keeping you blonde

As mentioned in a previous blog post, over the summer I got my hair highlighted (see before and after photos here) and ever since have been trying to keep my hair in tip-top condition to preserve the colour.

An inpromptu beauty haul

This weekend I did a bit of damage shopping wise and as a result my debit card is feeling somewhat drained...

I went into town to give out my CV as I'm currently looking for some part time work (so I have more money...to spend... most likely on food and beauty products!) but surprise surprise I ended up in Lush, Boots and Superdrug (dangerous I know!).

I walked in the door after shopping and my housemate says ''Liv.... what have you bought now?!''  - I think if after only 5 weeks of living with me, she has that reaction, I may be more of a shopaholic than I realise!

Autumn lip picks

There are so many beautiful reds and plums this autumn that frankly I found it hard to pick just a handful to show in this post. My aim was to choose 5, but as you can see I chose 8 (whoops!) because there were a couple of gems that I just couldn't leave out of my final pick of the crop. I've included balm stains, glosses and lipsticks so there is something for everyone no matter what preference for formula you have!

Natural nude lips - ''my lips but better''

As superficial as this sounds, there seems to be a permanent mission in the world of beauty to find that perfect nude lip combo for yourself. That 'my lips but better' shade. For me the struggle has finally come to an end.  I have found my perfect everyday natural lip combo.

Inspiration, homesickness and writers block

We all get down sometimes, and I've recently moved away from home to university in Bournemouth and that has meant that from time to time I've felt home sick, missing my friends, family, pets and my own bed!

One thing that has made me feel better, during busy freshers fortnight of going out most evenings, is the odd evening in to recover with a mini pamper session and catching up on my favourite blogs.

A hair saviour in a bottle

For about 5 years now I've been completely faithful to my holy grail hair care product which is a leave in conditioning spray. My hair is pretty unmanageable after washing it and is incredibly hard to comb or brush through before blow drying. This is where my little gem of the hair care world comes into play! The L'Oreal Paris Elvive Nutri-Gloss conditioning shine spray works wonders on my knotty locks and with the help of my trusty Tangle Teaser I manage to brush my hair through with minimal tugging and hair breakage.

Speeding up my makeup routine

Since I've been at university I've found that due to one reason or another I've not left as much time as I usually would in order to get ready for a night out.

This has resulted in my having to become more efficient and organised with my routine. Now I know this may seem stupid but it saves me loads of time and even means I get out of the house on time occasionally!
