First you need to exfoliate any dead skin from your lips, I use a lip scrub by Lush, but various other brands do them, Fresh do a very popular one too! Alternatively you can make your own using honey and granulated sugar. Just mix half a teaspoon of honey with sugar until it forms a very gritty sticky scrub and then buff away all dead skin from the surface of your lips. If you have sensitive lips be gentle at first and then build up over time.
Then lather on your favourite lip balm, I like to use a matte lip balm underneath matte lips. I use the Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm, but any one will do. You can do this before bed or just before you apply your lipstick!
And voila! A perfectly smooth, and moisturised base for matte lipstick!
This will work perfectly regardless of what you lip product you use, matte, or glossy but lips in poor condition often show up more when wearing matte lipsticks.
Hope you're all having a lovely week!
