Boots, Superdrug and The Body Shop beauty haul

I am currently studying for A Levels and am in mid-revision and exam frenzy. Yesterday, I got rather bored of revision after staying in for the majority of half term so decided to pop into town for a little look around the shops for an hour or so. Although I had good intentions of only spending a short amount of time there and a small amount of money, I couldn't have been more wrong. I should have known what I'm like!

So after over 2 hours in town, both my bank account and I were feeling more than a little drained. There were a couple of things I had on a list to buy, including repurchases and a couple of things new to try out, but ended up buying a lot more than anticipated.

So lets start of with Boots and Superdrug,

I had just run out of my favourite Batiste Dry Shampoo so was looking to buy another can of that. I have recently been trying out the different variations they have in the range. After putting numerous of the scented and coloured dry shampoos to the test I really feel like I am getting to know which ones I prefer. Being blonde, I recently tried the dry shampoo specifically formulated for blondes. With a hint of colour it makes it less obvious that you are in between hair washes and have used a sneaky spray of dry shampoo as there is less of a white cast left by the powdery residue. On entering Superdrug yesterday I saw a huge 400ml can for half price so immediately snapped up that deal.

When it comes to setting powders I'm very loyal to my Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in translucent, which is well known for being a great affordable option. I hit pan on this a while ago and cannot bare to be without this essential part of my makeup routine so purchased a back up.

After these two items I began to leisurely scan the makeup isles for new products I haven't yet tried. I bought a lighter colour of my L'Oreal True Match Foundation as the colour I have is a tad too yellowy for my skin town at the moment. I had seen and read reviews of the new L'Oreal L'extraodinaire Liquid Lipsticks by Colour Riche, and was excited to give them a try for myself so picked up a nude pink shade (600 NUDE VIBRATO)and a red (301 ROUGE SOPRANO). They appear to be very similar to the glossy stains they brought out a year or so ago but are more pigmented.

I also picked up an Essie nail polish in the colour Buy Me A Cameo, which is a beautiful rose gold colour and I have no other nail varnish that is even remotely similar. In the UK, high-street makeup isn't often on sale as such, we have 3 for 2 offers a lot but I saw a clearance section filled with nail varnish, mascaras and lip products and there was a Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint amongst the bunch in a Navy Blue colour (Blackberry) for only £1.25! Wasn't going to be passing that bargain up! I have wanted to try the much hyped up Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum for a while so bought that too, and am excited to see if it lives up to the amazing reviews.

One of my favourite drugstore brands is Soap and Glory both for body and makeup products. A particular favourite are the Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks, I already had 2 colours and wanted to go back for more so bought Plum Jam and Bashful. NYC is undoubtedly one of the cheapest drugstore brands and I think I've only ever tried their eyebrow pencil (which I love - and its so cheap!) and the infamous Smooth Skin Bronzer in the shade Sunny is always sold out in Superdrug but by some sheer stroke of luck they had it yesterday!

I also bought the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown, as I was a tad bit bored of using pencil and the occasional liquid liner so decided to branch out to gels! (Plus it came with a free brush!) Rimmel, do wonderful lip products in my opinion but I'd never seen their invisible lip liner, maybe its new, maybe not... but it reminded me of when Amelia Liana spoke about a similar product from Lipstick Queen (which seemed a tad expensive for something that's invisible and might be a gimmick). Lastly from Boots I bought a Burt's Bees tinted lip balm in the colour Hibiscus, which is a shear plumy red colour. I used to have this a few years ago, but seemed to have forgotten about it and lost it somewhere along the way, but when I saw it yesterday I instantly remembered how much I loved it!

Next up was The Body Shop, and if I'm honest I only went in to buy the Essie Button favourite, Honey Bronzer, but as per usual I got chatting to one of the members of staff about skincare and makeup and long story short I bought way more than just a bronzer.

So as you can see, I got sucked into their vitamin E skincare range. I bought a set which included an overnight moisture mask and an oil-serum. I also bought a toner and along with this got the Bronzer free due to a promotion they had on, as well as a free eye gel, and the lady gave me 3 free samples! If you ask me that's what I call a good deal and a successful shopping trip, albeit not for my bank account!

Hope you are having a lovely day!
