September Favourites

September is quite naturally one of my favourite months of the year as its the month in which my birthday falls. I've been spoilt rotten this year as it was my 21st birthday and am truly grateful for all the amazing presents I received. But this is about the beauty products I've loved this month so here we go!

Kiko Haul and First Impressions

A couple of weeks ago I went shopping and popped into the Kiko shop and there were a couple of things that caught my eye.

August Favourites

August has been a month of wonderful un-british like weather, BBQs and time off from work for me! I hope you've all had a lovely month, and today I'm sharing with you the things that I've loved this throughout this month.

My new love of cleansing balms

For years I've been a fan of gel cleansers as they made my skin feel cool, refreshed and clean. I hadn't really tried other formulations of cleansers until recently. Although I love micellar waters and cleansing oils to take off my makeup I hadn't found something that could take off my makeup (even waterproof mascara) and cleanse my skin thoroughly.

Top 10 Coral Lip Products - Highstreet / Drugstore and High-end

In summer I'm automatically drawn to pinky coral lip shades so I thought I'd give you my pick-of-the-bunch. Here are my top 10 picks split up into the more affordable highstreet/drugstore options and the luxurious high-end options. They're in no particular order, they're all lovely. I've included a mix of lipsticks, lip glosses, lip crayons, lip butters and lip liners so there's something for everyone and at all levels of prices!

Empties: Haircare and Makeup

I've had a little blogging break recently but am fully back with it so here is a long overdue haircare and makeup instalment of my recent empties/products I've used up collection!

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Shampoo and Conditioner
- I'm pretty sure that I've mentioned these products before in a blog post as I like to use them to keep my hair looking as blonde as possible especially after having it highlighted. But even on non-colour treated blondes these are two very lovely light moisturising shampoo and conditioners.
Would I repurchase? - Yes

L'Oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss Light Conditioning Shine Spray
- Long time readers of my blog will know this is my all time favourite leave in conditioning spray for shiny, smooth, glossy looking hair. It's great as a detangled too! I currently have two back up bottles of this ready to crack out! I never like to be without them!
Would I repurchase? - YES in bulk!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Light 1 Chantilly
- Over the past one to two years this has been my favourite full coverage 'perfect makeup' concealer. I cannot really fault it, it's long lasting, blends in seamlessly and comes in a great variety of colours and actually does one light enough for me to be able to highlight with it!
Would I repurchase? - Yes

Original Beauty Blender
- For years I've bought knock-off, or cheaper versions of the beauty blender however after purchasing the original I really do understand the hype. They expand more when dampened meaning they blend your makeup better and they don't soak up much makeup at all meaning they don't waste it!
Would I repurchase? - Already have!

Empties: June 2016 : Skincare

Here is the latest instalment of my ''Empties'' or ''Products I've Used Up'' blog post series where I save up all the beauty bits I've finished and summarise my thoughts of them.

Disappointing products

I usually talk about products I like and love but I think it's equally important to talk about those that I've tried and not liked or haven't worked well for me. These are my opinions and you may love these products and they may work well for you and thats great! Anyway, here are my thoughts on 5 products that have recently disappointed me.

Glowing Greek Goddess Makeup

Last weekend was my university summer ball which is fancy dress and my housemates and I decided to go as Greek Goddesses, I really liked how my makeup turned out so glowy and fresh, just how I pictured it! I curled my hair in random sections, wore it half up half down and wore a white dress with lots of gold accessories.

May Favourites

It's that time of month again where I sit down and chat to you about my favourite things throughout the month of May. This month has probably been my busiest month of the year so far, as I've had deadline after deadline and have been revising like crazy for my end of year exams at Uni, which will finally be over on Tuesday! It's safe to say I'm so excited to finish second year, celebrate with my friends and then move back home and start my new job! In fact excited doesn't even cover it.

Review: The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops

When summer rolls around whether you tan naturally (lucky you!) or like me you use a gradual tan to build a bit of colour and glow to your skin, you will more than likely have the problem of matching your foundation to the rest of your skin. So instead of buying each of your foundations in multiple colours The Body Shop has provided an affordable option to change the colour of your foundation to match your skin perfectly!

Top Tips for Long Lasting Makeup

Something that many people struggle with when it comes to makeup is how to make it last. Depending on products and skin type makeup will last differently on different people. Here are my top 4 tips to keep your makeup looking perfect for as long as possible.

MAC Haul

I recently placed an online order from the MAC website and thought I'd share my purchases!

Day-to-Night makeup look: champagne eye with nude lip to bronzey eye with red lip

On Wednesday I went out for lunch and then went out clubbing that night for my friends birthday so I wanted to have really nice makeup that could take me from my natural day look to a glam night out makeup look as I didn't have time to re-do all my makeup. I thought this would be quite useful for those of you making a quick transition from work, college or university to going out in the evening!

Epilating : First Impressions and Braun Silk-Epil 5 Review

For years shaving was my hair removal method of choice however I started to get frustrated with how often I had to shave my legs to keep them smooth and hair free. The smooth feeling never lasted more than a couple of days and the hair grew back thicker, making the whole problem worse. I'd heard that epilating gave better results in terms of removing smaller, finer hairs and keeping you smooth and hair free for much longer. I was lucky enough to be given the Braun Silk-Epil 5 (5780) Epilator for Christmas (blog post of what I got here) and to cut a long story short I haven't shaved my legs since!

Top 5 Travel Makeup Palettes

I am a big fan of makeup palettes, their so convenient as you have so many shadows or products all in one palette as opposed to having individual products. This means that they're great for travelling! I have my top 5 for you today!

Perfect Matte Lipstick Prep + DIY Lip Scrub'

Matte lipsticks are beginning to take over from glossy, shiny lip products and thats all well and good but what if you have uneven, dry, chapped lips but want to pull off a gorgeous matte bold lip ? You don't want it to look patchy, flakey or show all the fine lines in your lips, but all matte lips do that right?! Wrong! You can make any matte lipstick look so much better on your lips regardless of the formula in two quick and easy steps to help  maintain gorgeous lips!

April Favourites

The month of April has flown by for me, I started it at home for the Easter holidays and ended it in revision mode ready for exams! This month has been pretty amazing for me though in all honesty, I secured a new job for my placement year as a teaching assistant starting in June which I'm honestly over the moon about! I attempted to save someones life using CPR and after years of on-off lessons, I passed my driving test! It's safe to say I'm incredibly happy. May will be the hardest month however as I have 3 exams and an assignment due in! So I'm going to be crazy busy! As I've mentioned on social media I will more than likely only post on Sundays for the next month so as to focus on my uni work. But you're all here to see the beauty favourites this month so let's right to it!

Top 5 makeup products under £5

With so many products on the market it's so difficult to know what is worth splurging on and what you can get for less. There are some amazing items on the highstreet but many of those often recommended are in the £5-£12 price bracket but there are some hidden gems for under £5 and I'd like to highlight my top 5!

Bad beauty habits

Firstly I'd like to apologise for the fact there was no post on Wednesday, I had a test at Uni on Friday and was nervously revising!

Apology aside, there are many things we do day in day out when it comes to beauty but for most (me included) there are certainly some which aren't such good habits, for some it may be not removing makeup or not cleaning makeup brushes but they're ones that I'm very particular about and never neglect to do!

MAC : Top 5 things I'd recomend

For many years I didn't see why so many of my friends used MAC so much. Almost all of their makeup came from the brand. Nowadays with so many makeup brands and products on offer we tend to 'cocktail' our makeup and beauty products. By this I mean that we may have a L'Oreal foundation, a Maybelline mascara, Urban Decay eyeshadows and Clarins lipsticks. We rarely stick solely to one brand. However, I thought it'd be nice to take a brand every now and then and tell you what I think are their best products (from what I've tried). I hope this is helpful if you've never bought something from MAC but are tempted or if like me you (now), love the brand and are looking for something new to try.

Haul & First Impressions : Boots, Superdrug, Wilko and ASOS

Today I thought I'd add post an extra blog post, I usually post on Wednesdays and Sundays but here is a cheeky extra Friday post for you all! I don't often do haul blog posts as I find they're often more effective in the form of a YouTube video as you can chat about each product a bit more and show it to the audience better but none-the-less over the past couple of weeks of the Easter holidays I've bought various beauty related things on separate occasions and thought I would share my purchases with you all with a mini first impressions too!

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour Review & Swatches

I popped into Boots the other day and was looking for some new makeup releases and stumbled upon some new matte liquid lipsticks from Revlon. They're called the Ultra HD Matte Lipcolours and come in a gorgeous array of colours. Ranging from nudes to bright bold pinks, reds and purples priced at £8.99 but Revlon is often on 3 for 2 so look out for that!

Nivea Post Shave Balm : is it worth the rave reviews?

Today I'm talking about something I never thought I'd be mentioning on my blog and that's a mens shaving balm... odd I know! But recently the Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm has been raved about on blogs and Youtube videos for being 'the best primer' out there. In my opinion thats a pretty big claim but I thought I would test this out when I found it half price in Wilko. It was discovered and reviewed by NikkiTutorials last year. Recently it's sold out in every Boots and Superdrug as it's so popular.

March Favourites

Over the past month I've been home and away from uni a lot. At the beginning of the month, I had reading week and went to Careys Manor in the New Forest. Then went back to university for a week before coming home for the Easter holidays for the rest of the month. March has been a great month all-in-all and today I'm going to share with you all my favourite things of the month!

Spring Makeup Updates

I typically do about one makeup look / tutorial a month but this one I feel really reflects my everyday makeup. It's very simple and easy to recreate and is so wearable. I've incorporated some updates to my makeup bag / routine for the new season as Spring is now officially upon us.

When it comes to Spring and Summer I love dewy lightweight bases, cream/liquid blushers and gorgeous golden bronzers.

Self Tanning : Favourite products, my routine and tips

As soon as the sun starts to poke its way out of the grey overcast clouds I begin to get myself prepped and ready for Spring and Summer and for me self tanning is an important part of that.  I start by prepping my skin by shaving/epilating, exfoliating and moisturising. Now, I know the weather isn't great yet, but that's why I start with a gradual tan moisturiser to build up some colour and add a little glow to my pasty legs etc. When summer finally rolls around things start to get a bit more serious and I whip out a few other products.

Favourite highlighters

Highlighters are possibly the most favourite part of my makeup collection and in my opinion make such a big difference when it comes to making you look radiant and ''lit-from-within''. Whilst prepping for this blog post I realised that 4/5 of these highlighters are high end! I need to find some more affordable options. But here are my top 5 favourite highlighters.

Haircare Kit : High-street

Haircare is something that I don't talk about too much on this blog however come to think of it there are some real staples and holy grail products that I ALWAYS use and repurchase time and time again. So here is my affordable, all high-street, hair care kit/routine.

Top 5 High-Street Spring Nail Varnishes

I used to be so bad about regularly painting my nails but lately I've been loving getting some use out of my collection and trying different colours. I'm so excited for spring and summer and for pastel and bright nails. Spring is the best time, in my opinion to wear bright pastel colours on your nails and here are my top 5 high-street picks! This includes my favourite 3 nail varnish brands so regardless of the colour these formulas are, in my opinion, the best on the high-street/drugstore.

ASOS Spring/Summer Wish List

Today I thought I'd post an extra blog post ( I usually post on Wednesdays and Sundays only). This is a 'wish list' type blog post from my favourite online clothing retailer, ASOS. As an ASOS Premier customer I am always ordering from them as I get free next day delivery and free returns. This means I can buy things try them on and send them back for nothing if they're not right or I don't like them as much as on the website. I'd highly recommend becoming a premier customer if you shop with them a lot, it's so worth it!

However I thought it might be interesting to show you some of the items on the site that have been saved in my account for a while. This is my ASOS Spring/Summer wish list! If you're interested in any of the items just click the links to be directed to the website!

Spa Break - Careys Manor Hotel and SenSpa

After a few days break in the New Forest during my university half term I couldn't hold back from sharing with you all just how beautiful Careys Manor Hotel and SenSpa really is. The reason I can't wait to tell you all is because, you know when you experience something amazing and you can't wait to tell your best friend, well thats me now, I've told my best friends and my parents all about it and then I realised that if I enjoyed it this much I should be sharing it all with you all on here! Rambley and cheesy intro aside here are some photos I took whilst on my mid week break!

Light Bases for Spring/Summer

As we should be (fingers crossed) be moving into slightly warmer weather soon I always like to swap to some slightly lighter bases. There are a few options ranging from, tinted moisturisers, BB creams, CC Creams or mineral foundations. Today I'm going to show you my top 3 light bases for warmer weather or when you simply don't want to feel like you're wearing foundation.

Empties: Feb 2016

I can't quite believe how many beauty products I've finished as my last empties blog post was in November, I'm very happy however to be slowly but surely making my way through my stash of products! Anyway here are reviews of all of the products I've completely finished in the last couple of months!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Tutorial - Neutral eye, winged liner and nude lip

Today I wanted to use the gorgeous Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette to create a very wearable makeup look with a neutral eye and a nude lip. It can be worn with or without the eyeliner depending on if its for day or night or for the occasion but I'll leave that bit up to you!

February Favourites

Another month is over and today I'll be telling you all about the things I've been loving through  February.

Review : Collection #FaceTheDay Palette

The brand Collection, in my opinion is very understated. It's one of the most affordable makeup brands in the UK and has some really good products that are comparable to much more expensive products. Most of their products are under £5 which if you compare this to other high-end brands and even other high-street brands this seems very reasonable to me.

The ultimate smoky eye palette - Urban Decay Naked Smoky

Urban Decay are a high end beauty brand best known for their gorgeous array of 'Naked' eyeshadow Palettes. There are 3 Naked palettes; a cool, warm and rose toned palette to suit all skin tones and eye colours. There are also 2 gorgeous mini palettes called the Naked Basics, perfect for on-the-go. But the newest addition is the Naked Smoky, which contains an array of 12 beautiful matte and shimmer shadows that can take you from day-to-night in minutes.

Gorgeous bronze pressed pigment

Several weeks ago I was perusing my local MAC counter and came across a new collection of gorgeous pressed pigments. I had to ration myself and only buy one but in all honesty I wanted them all! Each and every colour was so wearable and when I tested them out on the back of my hand I couldn't hold back my ''oohs'' and ''aahh'' 's in admiration and excitement.

Drugstore Date Night / Valentine's Makeup Tutorial

For those of you off on a date with someone new, your partner, or with your girl-friends this Valentine's Day here is a natural, cute but flirty pink toned makeup look that accentuates your eyes. This makeup look doesn't just have to be worn on Valentine's Day you can wear it whenever you like! I've used all affordable high-street products so they're all readily accessible in your local Boots or Superdrug.

Valentines Vanilla Cupcakes with Double Chocolate Chip Buttercream

These cupcakes are perfect for making with/for your friends or your boyfriend/girlfriend for valentines day. They're cute and delicious, what more can you want from a valentines treat eh?

Collective Maybelline, NYX and L.A. Girl Haul

Over the past few weeks I've bought various different bits of makeup and thought I'd put it all together in a collective haul.
