What I got for Christmas 2015

I was a very lucky girl this year and was very generously given some lovely presents from my friends and family, a few of which were beauty related and I thought I'd share a few on here.

Winter Wonderland and Oxford Street Christmas Lights 2015

I recently went to Winter Wonderland in London with my boyfriend, one of my best friends and her boyfriend and took some photos whilst I was there which I thought I'd share with you all.

Disney's Frozen Elsa Inspired Makeup

I've always loved the Disney film Frozen and have always loved Elsa's hair, makeup and dress. This year my uni housemates and I decided to have a fancy dress Christmas party. So quite naturally I was very excited to dress up as Queen Elsa.

Below is the before and after.

Empties #4 - Haircare and Bodycare

I recently realised just how many products had built up in the 'empties' bag I keep in my bedroom and this is the next instalment of products I've used up. I'll let you you know what I liked and didn't like and if I have or will be repurchasing it!

Festive Lush Haul

This is the time of year when all I want to do is have snuggle up watching films or reading with a blanket and a hot drink after a relaxing bath. And every year at about this time I'm always drawn to Lush for some bath time treats! These are some of this years Christmas collection that caught my eye but I'm sure I'll be picking up more in future weeks leading up to the end of the year.

Second Year University Bedroom Tour

I thought I would give you a little tour of my University bedroom today for those of you who like myself, enjoy seeing different home decor styles and generally like to be a bit nosey! This is my room at my house in Bournemouth that I'm living in for the second year of my degree! If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below! Enjoy!

New Beauty Releases Autumn

There have been some amazing new products hitting the shelves of Boots and Superdrug recently so here are my top finds at the moment.

Empties #3 - Makeup and Skincare

So it seems I've been making my way through and using up quite a lot of things recently. So I thought I'd let you know what I thought of each before I threw them away.

Get the Glow

Want that lusted-after dewy, radiant, glowy skin makeup look? Then look no further!

3 makeup brush cleaning methods

There are three methods I use to clean my makeup brushes/tools and today I thought I would tell you all about them. (See previous post on makeup brush washing here)

Evening Pamper Routine

It has to be said I'm partial to a relaxing pamper evening from time to time to relax and unwind, here is the low down on my recent evening pamper routine! So make a cup of tea, have a little read and hopefully by the end of this post you'll be in the mood for some pampering yourself!

Boots Haul

I popped into Boots this week after work one day and picked up a few bits and bobs so I thought I'd share what I got and my first impressions!

June and July Favourites

Today I thought I would share what I have been loving throughout the months of June and July.

Zoella Beauty: Tutti Fruity

Back in March I wrote a blog post (here) on Zoella's sell out debut beauty range and 5 months down the line I'm here writing another to share my excitement with you all about the 7 new additions to her range.

New Beauty Releases

It's that time of year when there are so many gorgeous new beauty products released onto the shelves of Boots and Superdrug so I decided to give you my thoughts on the new bits and bobs I've been putting to the test!

Sunday Stuff : At Home Manicure

As luxurious and relaxing as it is getting your nails done for you at a salon for most of us it's a real treat as it can be quite an expense and can often be rather time consuming. So today I thought I'd share my At Home Manicure routine with added tips and tricks along the way.

Handy Beauty Tools

I frequently talk about makeup and skincare but something that is far less talked about is the tools which we use behind the scenes. So here are 12 of my most used beauty tools.

Top 10 Under £10 - Makeup

It's all well and good being recommended expensive high end beauty products to try but let's be honest we all want to be able to find amazing products that actually do what you want at affordable prices! So here are my top 10 makeup products easily available from Boots or Superdrug for under £10.

Sunday Stuff : Makeup Clear Out

I think its really important to regularly go through your makeup collection, regardless of whether its small or large, and throw out old products that you no longer use or are long past their expiry date.

Review: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

The Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara is currently very popular in the world of beauty. When it comes to mascaras I'm pretty picky. Mascara is my holy grail makeup product, and I think a good one makes a world of difference to how awake and fresh you look. For a mascara to 'wow' me it must lengthen, volumise, separate, hold a curl, last all day (and night) and not flake or smudge on me. A lot to ask for, yes I know, but I never said I was low maintenance!

Sunday Stuff: Makeup Sponge Cleaning

One of the questions that I'm most frequently asked is how to clean a makeup sponge. So I thought I'd dedicate a post to it as I'm sure there are many of you who would like to know some ways to keep your makeup sponge in tip-top condition and bacteria free.

Review : First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads

Some skincare products take a while to show results, however this is an exception! The Facial Radiance Pads from First Aid Beauty are amazing... and I don't say that lightly! I noticed a difference in my skin after only one use! There are 60 pre-soaked round pads in the tub that exfoliate, tone and brighten your skin as the packaging suggests.

My skin looked more glowy and felt unbelievably smooth the following day! I couldn't believe the results were so quick! I've been using them for about 3 weeks now and I know they will be something I will continue to repurchase as I've been using them every evening after cleansing my skin before applying any serums, oils or moisturisers to my face.

I really notice a difference if I forget to use these as my skin doesn't look as healthy and glowing.
If you have bumpy, uneven skin, or would like your skin to be more radiant then  I would highly recommend you give these a try.

Empties #2 Haircare, Bodycare and Miscellaneous

I've got another Empties post today as there was just far too many products to include in one blog post! I'm really liking empties posts at the moment so I'm glad I'm finally writing some! If you want to see what products I've used up recently keep reading!

Protecting your skin - Sun cream and SPF

It's important to wear sun protection all year round but even more so when the weather starts to warm up. It can be so easy to forget to wear SPF (sun protection factor) but it really is so important as the pain of the burn and the irreversible damage to your skin really isn't worth it. Sun damage can also cause premature ageing! SPF can be found in so many products we use, moisturisers, eye creams, foundations and concealers to name a few. In the cooler months I simply make sure at least one of face products whether that be my moisturiser or foundation has SPF in it but in the Spring and Summer months I would recommend a separate SPF for added protection.

Empties #1 - Skincare

To those of you who aren't avid readers/watchers of beauty blogs/YouTube channels you will think that collecting products you've used up rather than simply throwing them away is rather weird. However, you tend to get really honest reviews of products when someones completely finished it as opposed to having only used it for a week or two.

I get a sense of satisfaction when I use up a product and since I've been collecting my 'empties' for this blog post it's spurred me on to actually get through products rather than having 3 shampoos on-the-go!

Intrigued to see what I've been using recently and what I think? Then read on my friends!

April Favourites

I haven't the slightest idea why it's taken me until now to write a monthly favourites blog post. They're undoubtedly my favourite to read and I'm a big believer that you should write what you'd want to read. So here goes!

Review: Milani Baked Blushers

The Milani baked blushers have been highly regarded for many years on a plethora of beauty blogs and YouTube channels and I though it was high time that I should see what all the fuss was about. And I have to say that they were well worth the purchase!

Favourite deep cleansing masks

This is a blog post I've been meaning to do for a while because it's a step that a lot of people forget to regularly incorporate into their skincare routine. I absolutely love having a relaxing bath on a Sunday evening with a face mask and a cup of tea. It is recommend that you use a face mask 1-2 times per week. Personally twice a week is too much for my skin. But as I've said, once a week I will use one of the masks mentioned below. I thought I'd just mention that I also love using nose pore strips as they give you such a strange feeling of joy when you see all the blackheads they pull out of your nose - gross I know, but oh so satisfying. I will also throw in a gentle exfoliation and finish the pamper session all off with a hydrating mask and eye cream. See my pamper routine in more depth here.

Everyday Makeup Look

This is my current everyday makeup look step by step. I have been going for a fairly natural looking makeup recently. I particularly love the gorgeous corally blush in this look as it adds a lovely glow to the skin. I have linked all the products in this post so just click on the name of a product to be shown it online for further details, price and where to buy it etc.

The 'Me Time' TAG

I recently re-watched the original 'Me Time' TAG video, which was created by two of my favourite YouTubers and Bloggers; Estée and Amelia. It has been a really popular video with over 250,000 views and people's versions of this tag are some of my favourite videos to watch and blog posts to read. When watching their video I just thought to myself, this is such a 'me' tag and I'd been wanting to do a popular tag post on my blog for a while and decided that this was the one!

MAC Soar

After hearing so much about this cult beauty favourite I decided it was time I tried it out to see if I agreed with the raving reviews. It has been said that Kylie Jenner uses MAC Soar to create her infamous pouty dark nude lips.

Zoella Beauty

She's gone from the girl next door no one knows about to one of the most famous and influential British youtubers today. Shes now a published author, has 7.5 million subscribers on YouTube and has her own line of bath and pamper products. Yes if you hadn't guessed by that description (or the title!) I'm talking about the beautiful and down to earth Zoe Sugg also known as Zoella.

Colab Dry Shampoo

Over the past few years dry shampoo has become a dressing table staple for me. I have until now been loyal to Batiste but I do like to try different products from time to time to see if anything can rival the position of my favourite dry shampoo.

Review : MAC Cherry Lip Liner

The infamous MAC Cherry lip liner had been on my beauty wish list for some time and on a recent shopping trip I happened to be perusing the MAC counter at Beales in Bournemouth and needless to say I caved. So enough with the guilt of another MAC purchase fuelled by ''beauty enablers'' such as the likes of Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup and Amelia Liana and on with the review!

Winter Skin SOS

Over the colder months our skin begins to suffer from flaking and dehydration. The winter is the time to get your skin in its best condition so that when spring and summer roll around you are ready for the new season. Its easy enough to cover up dry and flaky skin in the winter but by the spring you'll be wanting to have beautiful skin again, the time to put the work in is before spring rolls around. So get started now!

Sunday Stuff: Makeup Brush Washing

Everyone has they're own little pet peeves, one of mine is dirty makeup brushes.
For me its just a big no, not only does it mean that the brushes you are putting on your face everyday are harbouring bacteria likely to make you break out in spots but makeup simply just doesn't apply the same when your brushes are already caked in foundation for example. Clean brushes are a necessity for me. Now I'm not saying I'm perfect when it comes to regularly cleaning them, I mean, everyone gets a bit lazy from time to time but I aim to clean them once a week on a Sunday. Some people would clean theirs after every use no matter how often that is, whilst others would leave it a fortnight, a month, maybe even a year and some never do!

Review: Kiko Shadow Sticks

I recently went shopping in London with my friend and couldn't resist popping into Kiko, I had one particular product in mind when looking around the shop. I have heard some of my favourite beauty bloggers recommending their shadow sticks and comparing them to the By Terry Ombre Black Stars which although they look gorgeous are £29 which quite frankly I'm not willing to pay for a single stick eye shadow.

Body butter heaven

Most products I mention or review on here are either recommendations from fellow bloggers or are impulse buys however this is a first for me. My latest must-have body product was something that I discovered whilst at my boyfriends house over the Christmas period.
